The Spot is a café and restaurant in central Kuta Lombok, built around the idea that good food and a relaxed setting are not mutually exclusive.
Bart — the Belgian behind The Spot — opened the kitchen with a specific point of view: Belgian and French comfort food, made properly, in a place that understands what Lombok offers. That means fresh local ingredients, dishes from his home country that he actually grew up eating, and Indonesian food prepared the way it should be.
The Food
The menu covers both cuisines without pretending they belong together. They don't need to — they just share a kitchen and a dining room.
**Belgian and French dishes**: Waffles, meatballs, comfort food with real ingredients and proper technique. Not fusion, not tourist approximations.
**Indonesian dishes**: Local food using local produce. Some of the fruit, vegetables, and coconuts come from The Spot's own garden.
**Vegan and vegetarian options**: A proper selection, not an afterthought. Most menu items either naturally fit or have a vegan/vegetarian version.
**Drinks**: Proper espresso-based coffee, fresh juices, smoothie bowls, jamu, premium teas, and fresh coconuts.

The Setting
The café is in a garden — open, sheltered by trees, cool enough through the heat of the day. Over 700 plants and flowers on the property, no trees cut down. It's a comfortable place to spend a few hours, not just pass through.
When We're Open
08:00–21:00 daily. Breakfast from 08:00, kitchen open all day through evening. No lunchtime close.
Sustainability
The kitchen operates with near-zero food waste. LED lighting throughout the property, eco-conscious appliances, water management, and a solar program in development.
