Work in Paradise: Coworking Space in Kuta Lombok
Sun, surf, deadlines — and a coworking space that handles all three. The Spot in Kuta Lombok is built for remote workers who want to get things done without giving up the island.
The appeal of working from a tropical island is obvious. The execution is where it usually falls apart — unreliable internet, nowhere comfortable to sit, cafes that can't handle a video call.
The Spot was built to solve that. We've been running a coworking space and café in Kuta Lombok since 2019, and the setup is designed around how remote workers actually work, not how cafes think they do.
What Makes It Work
**Reliable internet** — fibre connection as primary, Starlink as backup. Consistent enough for video calls, large file transfers, and anything else you throw at it.
**A quiet focus room** — separate from the café floor, for when you need to actually concentrate. Air-conditioned, purpose-built for deep work sessions.
**Flexible seating** — from sofas for lighter work to proper desk setups. Power sockets throughout the space, not just near the walls.
**Open 08:00–21:00 daily** — members have 24/7 access, which matters when you're working across time zones or want to come back after an evening surf.
**Food and coffee on-site** — a full kitchen serving Belgian and Indonesian dishes from breakfast through evening. You don't need to break your day to go find lunch.

The Rhythm Here
Kuta Lombok runs on an early schedule. Most surfers and remote workers are up before 7am, in the water by 7:30, out by 10am before the onshore winds pick up. The Spot opens at 8, so you can transition straight from a surf session to a work session without losing the morning.
Afternoons are slower — good for the quieter, more focused parts of your work, or for heading to a nearby beach when the swell dies down.
Not Just Coworking
The Spot is a café first as much as it's a coworking space. The garden setting keeps it comfortable through the heat of the day. People move between the work area and the café depending on the task. It's the kind of place you spend the whole day, not just a few hours.
If you're staying in Kuta for more than a few days, it becomes your base — the place you default to in the morning, where you run into the same faces, and where the staff know your coffee order.
